Luis Lombardo has a degree in Biology and a Master\u2019s in Marine Ecology. He has dedicated his career to shark conservation and has made significant progress, including installing an acoustic telemetry system along the Quintana Roo coast, creating a Mexican Caribbean Bull Shark Identification Guide, and a continuous monitoring program. He also directed the training program for dive centers and created a community fund for shark conservation in Playa del Carmen. He collaborated in the creation of the polygon of the Mexican Caribbean Biosphere Reserve, including Playa del Carmen, thanks to the presence of sharks and the results of management and monitoring programs.<\/p>

After 13 years of leading shark conservation in the region, in 2023 he joined as Head of Projects & Operations of the Saving Our Sharks Foundation to continue his work and scale his impact.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Melodie Trevi\u00f1o<\/strong> is a dedicated ocean advocate and CEO for Saving Our Sharks Foundation<\/strong>, bringing a unique blend of expertise to marine conservation. Based on the Caribbean Coast, she is an accomplished Trimix (450ft\/137m), Cave, and Wreck diver, specializing in underwater exploration, including Taam Ja, the world\u2019s deepest Blue Hole, and the Xunaan Ha Expedition, part of The Planet Perpetual Initiative supported by Rolex.
With an MBA from Yale School of Management and the University of Twente, specializing in Geopolitics and Sustainability respectively, Melodie combines her academic knowledge with a deep passion for the ocean. As a founder of a company focused on regenerative tourism, she understands the importance of sustainable practices and community engagement.
In her role with Saving Our Sharks, Melodie leverages her experience to drive fundraising efforts, build strategic partnerships, and expand the foundation\u2019s impact in shark and ray conservation<\/strong>. She is committed to tackling shark fishing issues, supporting ecosystem regeneration, and promoting eco-conscious tourism that benefits local communities. Jos\u00e9 Luis Funes Izaguirre is a leading environmental lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in conservation and environmental management. He holds master\u2019s degrees in Environmental Law from the University of the Basque Country and in Management and Conservation of Species in Trade from the International University of Andalusia. He has played key roles in the Secretariat of Ecology and Environment of Quintana Roo, and in SEMARNAT as General Director of Wildlife, where he represented Mexico before the CITES Convention. Since 2019, he has worked as an environmental legal consultant internationally on high-impact projects. In 2023, he was awarded the \u201cRam\u00f3n Bravo Prieto\u201d Medal of Merit for Ecological Protection for his work in the conservation of marine ecosystems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Alex Zozaya is a businessman with more than 30 years of experience in the tourism sector. As Executive Chairman of Apple Leisure Group and founder of AMResorts, he led top brands in the hospitality industry. He has received important recognitions in the tourism industry and has been recognized for his commitment to strengthen tourism in different countries.<\/p>

After the sale of Apple Leisure Group in 2021, Alex has focused on his philanthropic work. He is President of the Amigos de Jes\u00fas orphanage in Honduras and of the Saving Our Sharks Foundation. His social commitment and his experience in the tourism sector make him a key leader in protecting natural resources and promoting sustainable tourism.
