Shared Shark with Acoustic Tracking
Contribute to research by helping us grow our acoustic tagging system. This system works with a transmitter and receptor duo that helps us track sharks even when we can’t see them! We have over 35 receivers all through the mexican the Caribbean but there are over 5,000 worlds wide, we all share our info so the chances of a shark being detected are good.

Shared Shark with GPS Tracking
With the GPS technology you’ll be able to follow your shark in real time through your cell phone. Sharks are tagged during our planned expeditions, depending on weather and fishery ban schedules. Your adoption will depend on the number of sharks we sight and manage to tag seasonally.

- Sponsorship certificate with the history of the shark and tracking data if available

The next time we tag a shark, we will add you to the first in line to the adoption list where you will get to name your own shark. Adopt & Join a Private Shark Expedition and GPS Tagging

Adopt a shark and enjoy a visit to Isla Mujeres with the Masters of the Seas and shark experts. During the 1-day expedition, you will accompany the team of experts on a shark tagging, monitoring and vigilance expedition. With the GPS technology you’ll be able to follow your shark in real time through your cell phone. Sharks are tagged during our planned expeditions, depending on weather and fishery ban schedules. Your adoption will depend on the number of sharks we sight and manage to tag seasonally.

With your shark adoption you are supporting Saving Our Sharks A.C. research in the Mexican caribbean. Research activities include monitoring, vigilance and shark tagging expeditions carried out by local researchers in collaboration with INAPESCA and the Masters of the Seas – the Kab Xok Cooperative – that have ceased shark fishing shifting their livelihoods to focus on shark conservation and ecotourism activities to guide visitors to shark diving experiences.
